Hosokawa’s continuous drying system has more energy efficient mechanisms than spray drying. In specific applications, our DMR flash drying system provides efficiency when producing alternative proteins. The system quickly and efficiently dries these proteins into powder while concurrently consuming 10-20% less energy than conventional ring dryers. In the food industry, the DMR flash dryer enables the valorization of residual streams. This includes recovering nutrients and high-quality raw materials from byproducts generated through various forms of food processing and from bakeries, breweries, and biorefinery installations.

Hosokawa’s selection of advanced technologies for production processes allows battery manufacturers to produce batteries more efficiently. We help manufacturers process battery materials, leading to optimized battery life, charge speed, and energy density. Our drying solutions— including the DMR flash dryer, Nauta® vacuum dryer, and CPD conical paddle dryer— assist with drying cathode materials to specific required moisture levels. We have also developed a comprehensive process for the sustainable recovery of carbon black from used tires, resulting in dust-free granular material that can be dosed accurately. This process allows for results immediately suitable for reuse in rubber-based applications. Our process is valuable for recyclers which handle car tires in hopes of retrieving carbon black from the rubber. We use Hosokawa machinery to conduct this process and provide our customers with satisfactory results, contributing to sustainability by not letting materials go to waste.
