The Contract Manufacturing department at Hosokawa specializes in process and product development. Our team is comprised of highly experienced, professionally trained operators with extensive backgrounds in powder processing, equipment operation and powder analysis and characterization. We can solve most processing requirements; offering equipment options designed for optimum output and performance. We can help you take your powder from the development stage into full production!
Hosokawa’s Mikro Pulverizer Hammer and Screen Mill is designed to mill soft to medium hard chemicals, minerals and plastics down to D90 < 45 µm.
The Mikro® UMP Universal Mill was developed as the next step in the evolution of the Mikro Pulverizer Hammer and Screen Mill, especially well-suited for plastic and chemical applications.
It is ideal for separating ultra-fine materials down to a 4 µm cut point while processing 800 lbs/hour.
Hosokawa utilizes the Micron Separator MS-1 Air Classifier in the toll processing facility.
The Mikro® Acucut Air Classifier is a forced vortex air classifier designed to disperse, and then classify fine particles into coarse and fine fractions.
Conical screw mixers are one of the most effective devices to gently homogenize dry powder materials with minimal product degrading.
The Cyclomix is a high speed, high shear, high impact mixing system that can also be used for coating and bonding applications
The Micron Powder Characteristics Tester PT-X determines the flowability and floodability of dry powders.
The air jet sieve is designed for analyzing materials between 20 µm to 4,750 µm.
The Alpine UPZ is a flexible milling system designed for grinding a wide range of materials.
The Mikro LGM® Long Gap Mill is an air classifier mill that uses a combination of attrition and impact forces for fine size reduction down to D97 < 10 μm.
With the Kompaktor CS 25 powder is process to granulate or briquettes. This process is described as compaction or briquetting.
The Micron Labomixer is a laboratory scale conical screw mixer designed to gently mix dry powders and liquid additives in batches up to 2.5 liters.
The Micron Nobilta High Intensity Mixer can produce solid-solid composite materials in a dry process without the use of a binder by only applying mechanical force.
The Nauta® Vacuum Dryer is a universal batch dryer suitable for drying materials such as powders, granules, pastes and viscous slurries..
The Drymeister® Flash Dryer combines drying, milling and classifying in a single system with inlet gas temperatures up to 600°C.
The Rotoplex features a cross-scissor-cut rotor which offers process technological superiority, saves energy, increases the service life, and improves the material feeding characteristics.
Laser diffraction is a highly accurate method to determine particle sizes of materials between 17 nm to 2 mm.
The Alpine CW Contraplex is a wide chamber impact mill designed for fine grinding of sticky and oil materials.
The Mikro® UMP Attrition Mill is high speed cutting mill designed for the fine size reduction of plastics, polymers and fibrous materials that do not respond well to other forms of impact milling.
Hosokawa’s contract manufacturing air classifying mills are designed to grind chemical and mineral materials down to a D97 < 20 µm with a very narrow particle size distribution.
Hosokawa's Contract Manufacturing Center has multiple vibratory screener to classify finished materials when removing oversize particles or fine dust is required.
The jet mills at Hosokawa’s tolling facility are capable of ultra-fine milling of chemicals and minerals down to D97 < 3 µm.
