Description

The Process Engineer Trainee interacts and coordinates the scheduling of test dates and test protocols between sales, customers, and the test center personnel.  The position will participate in customer tests, coordinate the timely receipt of all testing data from the Technical Center, prepare the test reports and assist in the data analysis as it relates to the customer’s specifications and testing parameters.

The Process Engineer Trainee will also participate in equipment and start-ups in the field as part of a hands-on training program to learn how powders perform in various applications.

Responsibilities
  • WILLING TO WORK IN THE LAB FOR A MINIMUM OF 6 MONTHS TO LEARN ABOUT OUR EQUIPMENT AND PROCESSES
  • Under the supervision of the Sales Managers, this position will work with sales department and technical center personnel to coordinate, communicate test protocols, schedule testing dates with customers and maintain communication with customers to assure that materials for testing arrive in time for the tests and the quantities are sufficient.
  • The Process Engineer Trainee will participate in customer testing in the lab, coordinate the timely receipt of test reports from Technical Center personnel and communicate the results to the Sales manager.
  • The Process Engineer Trainee will interact with Sales Department personnel to interpret the test results and participate in discussions regarding the next steps in the sale process (i.e. – further testing, scale-up, comparison of performance of equipment (if multiple tests are run)
  • The Process Engineer trainee will travel to the field to job site with field service personnel to participate in start-ups of the equipment and observe the equipment performance. Will write and submit field reports of performance observations in the field.
  • Will participate in regularly scheduled sales department meetings, project engineer meetings and other meetings as requested by the Sales Manager.
  • Other training duties and assignments are requested by the Sales Manager.
Qualifications
  • Analytical and math skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Ability to identify, assess and problem solve
  • Proficient with computer and information technology
  • 1 – 3 years’ experience or recent college graduate
Education
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Chemical or Mechanical preferred)
