International Powder and Bulk Solids Show – PTXi 2010

Rosemont, Illinois – Hosokawa Micron Powder Systems met with hundreds of customers at the International Powder and Bulk Solids Show in early May. Many visitors have new projects in the pipeline to review with our Applications Engineers, indicating that the manufacturing industry is on the road to recovery.

During the show, Hosokawa introduced a pilot scale Mikro LGM Model 3 (Long Gap Mill) with a patented  external coarse product recirculation. The Mikro LGM has been in use for many years but recent design enhancements have improved size reduction efficiency. This mill can de-agglomerate, grind, classify and even dry in one-step and is an industry favorite among carbon black, pigment and various other chemical market.

Many visitors were intrigued with Hosokawa’s Education Program. For the past two years, Hosokawa has been performing educational webinars on different techniques and principles of powder processing. Many visitors have participated in past webinars while many others signed up to participate in future programs.

The Alpine Sugarplex was a popular machine at the show. This new sugar mill is explosion proof and does not require any ancillary equipment to operate. Hosokawa also displayed information on over 20 product lines for various applications in the Chemical, Mineral, Pharmaceutical and Food industries. Hosokawa offers equipment for size reduction, classification, mixing, drying, particle analysis and nanoparticle processing. 

During the show, Hosokawa offered customers a chance to win an iPod Touch.
