Introduction to Bulk Solids Handling: A Comprehensive Course on Solid Flow in Hoppers and Pneumatic Conveying of Bulk Solids

The Bulk Solids Innovation Center at Kansas State University in  Salina, Kansas will be hosting a comprehensive course that covers various topics related to bulk solids, pairing classroom instruction with practical exercises.

Course content will help an employee better understand bulk solids handling, storage, and flow behavior to enhance their comfort level and ability to problem solve when working with bulk solids. The course will focus on common bulk solids flow problems during storage and conveying and solutions to these problems. Students will participate in a full-scale test laboratory practical session of bulk solids handling, focusing on dilute and dense phase pneumatic conveying.

During the full-scale test laboratory practical session both the Hosokawa Micron Powder Characteristics Tester  and the Hosokawa Mikro Air Jet Sieve, MAJSx  will be demonstrated.

The Bulk Solids Innovation Center encourages employees, managers, and supervisors and research and development scientists and engineers in the following industries to attend:

  • Plastic
  • Mineral
  • Pharmaceutical
  • Chemical
  • Grain and Feed
