Machine Operator
Description
The Machine Operator position is responsible to set up, prepare and operate various machines for the purpose of demonstrating powder processing equipment capabilities.
Responsibilities
- Operate test equipment: start-up and shutdown, adjusting equipment parameters and recording equipment parameters under the direction of the Technical Asst. Manager or Process/Application engineers.
- Running or assisting in running customer tests.
- Analysis of processed materials.
- Upkeep and maintenance of test equipment (will require use of hand tools).
- Disassembly/Assembly and cleaning (dry/wet) of test equipment.
- Manually transfer (scoop/shovel) various powders from containers to test equipment. This may range from small amounts (pounds) to hundreds of pounds of powder in a shift.
- Routinely lift containers of powders of up to fifty pounds.
- Perform particle size analysis via prescribed method.
- Packaging and stretch wrapping final products in containers.
- Packaging and shipment of customer materials.
Qualifications
Basic Qualifications:
- Mechanical aptitude
- MS Suite knowledge
- Experience with laser diffraction particle size analyzers (not required)
- 2+ years working operating and/or maintaining equipment in an industrial setting
Preferred Qualifications:
- Operating powder processing equipment
- Forklift experience
- Research & Development experience
Education
- High School Diploma or GED
- College degree or technical school preferred
