Continuous drying, milling and classifying in a single compact system
Safe drying of temperature-sensitive products — even at elevated temperatures
Produces ultra-fine, uniform powders in just seconds
Handles moist solids with up to 80% moisture content — including slurries, pastes, doughs, filter cakes and wet powders
High evaporation capacity and fast thermal transfer
30–40% lower energy consumption per kg of evaporated water compared to conventional drying technologies
Small footprint and excellent accessibility for inspection and cleaning
Rotor Types
Hosokawa Flash Dryers are available with a choice of three rotor types, selected according to product characteristics and specific process goals. Each rotor offers distinct advantages to suit a wide range of applications:
DMR Rotor
A high-speed multi-blade rotor designed for strong dispersion, generating a powerful air vortex with tip speeds of up to 110 m/s. Ideal for maximum dispersing performance.
MDH Rotor
A horizontally driven rotor with swinging hammers for intensive grinding. Recommended for processing slurries and pastes requiring strong milling.
MDV Rotor
A vertically driven grinding rotor that gently disperses wet agglomerates and solids. Suited for mild dispersion and grinding of heat-sensitive products.
