Feldspar is a crystalline mineral of tectosilicate compounds. It is primarily found as an igneous rock, and it is the primary component in most granites. Feldspar is the most abundant mineral on the earth’s crust. Mechanically weathered feldspar can be found many sedimentary rocks and chemically weathered feldspar is responsible for many clays including kaolin.
Feldspar is highly abrasive with a Mohs hardness value of 6 – 65. It is also very chemical resistant and durable.
The main uses for feldspar are in the glass and ceramic industries, as well as construction industries.
However, ground feldspar is also used as fillers in the paint, adhesives and plastic industries. Feldspar powder provides strength, durability and resistance to wear. It also provides chemical inertness. Ground feldspar can be added to achieve high solids content with low viscosity impact.

For feldspar applications, the ball mill will typically be constructed with Aluminum Oxide media and ball mill lining.
