Spices

The production of spices is a complex process consisting of different steps for which high-performance machines and systems are needed. Some technologies are only used on a needed basis, others are constantly used throughout the process, and others are used sequentially following the traditional steps for spice processing.

Used consistently during the process, pneumatic conveying; storage, charge, & discharge; and dosing & weighing systems are critical needs increasing demand for certain technologies in spice production. On the other hand, some technologies for objectives such as puree grinding, cryogenic grinding, and steam sterilization may be used on a needed basis.

Other technologies are used in a sequence during spice processing. These steps go in order from cleaning, crushing & cutting, fine grinding, to mixing, starting with the raw materials and ending with the finished product.

Hosokawa offers a wide range of technologies which meet these needs. Technology requirements may vary based on the kind of spice, but no matter what, we have a solution for you. Please look at our Spice Processing Brochure to learn more about the specific products we offer for your needs.
