Activated Carbon

Activated carbon is known for its unique properties; low density with many pores and significantly high surface area, characteristics that make it a candidate for adsorption. Activated carbon is used for a wide array of environmental, industrial, chemical and medical applications. Ultra-fine particle size product is excellent for removal of pollutants from air and industrial processes.
Depending the on the application, i.e. the particle size requirements and hardness of the material, the Mikro-ACM Air Classifying Mill or the Alpine AFG Fluidized Bed Opposed Jet Mill can be used. The ACM efficiently reduces the particles most often from a roller mill in the 100 to 300 µm size range to a D50 in the range of 25 to 75 µm. For ultra-fine particle sizes, D50 < 25 µm, and/or more abrasive activated carbons, the Alpine AFG Fluidized Bed Opposed Jet Mill is an excellent choice. The AFG Jet Mill is capable of reducing the D50 as low as 5 µm.
The Mikro-ACM and Alpine AFG Jet mill are available in various sizes, from lab/pilot scale to large-scale production.
