Description

Hosokawa Micron Powder Systems provides size reduction systems and powder processing solutions for chemical, pharmaceutical, food, mineral, plastics, and cosmetic applications. Throughout our history, we have led the industry in coarse to ultra-fine grinding, classification, mixing, drying, containment, compaction, and analytical equipment.

The Field Service Engineer/Technician, (Mechanical) (“FSE/T (Mechanical”) reports to the Service Manager.  The FSE/T (Mechanical) provides a full array of on-site mechanical services including equipment repairs, installations, warranty claims, training, and troubleshooting. In all cases the FSE/T (Mechanical) is expected to work directly with customers via on-site services and email/video call as required.  The FSE/T (Mechanical) is expected to maintain good customer relationships to increase both sales (service/parts) and profitability of the group.

Responsibilities
  • Up to 75% Travel (majority domestic; some international) to customer sites, including 2–3-week assignments and often on short notice
  • Field activities to include equipment repairs, commissioning, training, and troubleshooting
  • Provide technical assistance to Parts Sales and customers via email/video call
  • Participate in company training (Test Center/Production)
  • Provide in-house mechanical support when necessary
  • Other tasks and projects as assigned by Management
Qualifications
  • Strong interpersonal skills and high-level of emotional intelligence
  • Able to work in stressful, unfamiliar environments
  • Willingness to learn from others and work as a team
  • 1-3 years’ experience of demonstrated mechanical aptitude
  • 1-3 years’ experience with field service experience
  • Mechanical knowledge/experience with high-speed rotating equipment, gearboxes, industrial machinery, automotive, etc

Documentation Experience:

  • Create and maintain field service records (timesheets, expense reports, service reports)
Education
  • Technical school or equivalent work experience; degree (2 or 4 year preferred)
