How do you sieve materials that are sticky and stick to a screen?
Hosokawa Micron Powder System’s Mikro Air Jet Sieve – MAJSx is a state of the art air jet sieve capable of conducting particle size analysis of a wide range of materials. However, if those materials are sticky, they may stick to the insides of the air jet sieve and the product will not be analyzed properly. Luckily, there is a quick and easy way to prevent sticky material from sticking to the insides of the Mikro Air Jet Sieve. This video shows you all the steps in more detail, but they can also be found here:
- Spray anti-static spray onto the lid cover and then wipe off the anti-static spray residue using the paper towel. Then, let the lid air dry so that the lid is completely dry before putting it back on the Mikro Air Jet Sieve. Note: a wet lid will cause the material to stick to the lid.
- Spray some more anti-static spray onto the bottom and edges of the test sieve screen. Note: DO NOT put any spray on the screen itself, as it will damage the sieve screen.
- Tap the lid with a light hammer should any material begin to stick during testing.
