This Universal Mikro Pulverizer (Model UMP-B) is Hosokawa’s pilot scale milling system for pharmaceutical applications. The UMP-B is a flexible milling system that can be used in a wide range of size reduction applications and has endless customizations available. It has four optional rotor configurations:

• Pin Disk for milling oily or sticky materials – useful when trying to avoid creating too many fine particles
• LFS Hammers for high speed impact milling with well controlled material top size
• Knife Rotor for coarse grinding or deagglomeration applications
• Attrition Disks that are well suited for milling fibrous, polymeric or heat sensitive materials

Hosokawa’s Universal Mikro Pulverizer is available from 1 horsepower for laboratory scale research and development, up to 60 horsepower for large production systems. This UMP-B is designed for pharmaceutical grade size reduction; similar UMP mills are used for high value chemicals and food milling applications.
