Cleaning the vacuum pressure gauge filter on the Mikro Air Jet Sieve

The Mikro Air Jet Sieve – MAJSx is a highly accurate and reliable particle size analyzer that is capable of determining the particle size distribution of dry powder in a range of 20µm to 4,750µm. It is suitable for analysis of chemical, mineral, pharmaceutical, food, plastic, and cosmetic materials, and can sample 10 to 100 grams per cycle. This video demonstrates how to clean the vacuum pressure gauge filter on the MAJSx.

Cleaning the Vacuum Pressure Gauge Filter

However, the Mikro Air Jet Sieve – MAJSx will not work efficiently if the machine is not maintained. This includes, but is not limited to, periodic cleaning of the vacuum pressure gauge filter. Material is passed into the Mikro Air Jet Sieve using a certain amount of vacuum pressure. If the vacuum pressure gauge filter is not cleaned efficiently, there may be a loss in vacuum pressure. If a loss of vacuum pressure is observed, be sure to clean the vacuum pressure gauge filter, as a loss of vacuum pressure could result in the product not being able to pass into the Mikro Air Jet Sieve.

This video on the left shows the proper instructions for cleaning the vacuum pressure gauge filter on the Mikro Air Jet Sieve. As always, make sure to follow the proper safety procedures, including use of gloves and eye protection, along with removing all electrical cables, including the power, communication, and network cables, and the vacuum plug, prior to beginning maintenance.

Other Notes on cleaning the vacuum pressure gauge filter:

  1. Be careful when using compressed air cans, as it may occasionally produce gases.
  2. Do not open up the bottom of the MAJSx unit unless you have been properly trained and authorized to do so.
