The Modulomix, a continuous mixer based on the proven Cyclomix technology, is especially suited for the pharmaceutical industry. In the development process of new medicines, considerable time and money savings can be achieved during the upscaling phase by using the Modulomix.
Higher flexibility, reducing costs
Continuous production is becoming an increasingly important concern in the pharmaceutical industry Hosokawa Micron B.V. has responded to this development by introducing the Modulomix. The great advantage of continuous production is that any desired quantity can be produced with the same small mixer, thus offering higher flexibility while reducing costs.
High mixing efficiency and good agglomerating characteristics
In developing the Modulomix, Hosokawa Micron B.V. opted for Cyclomix technology due to the high mixing efficiency achieved and its good agglomerating characteristics.
The Modulomix is available in a standard version with a compact volume, in order to achieve fast reactivity, a minimum of residues and a rapid start-up and shutdown process.
By means of variations in the speed and design of the agitation blades, different mixing conditions can be created. When more capacity is required, several Modulomix units can simply be connected in parallel. By connecting several Modulomixers in series, multiple mixing steps can be combined, for example:
- Admixing of the carrier and the active ingredient in the first step
- Addition of a lubricant before tablet presses as a second step
- Mixing before or after dry compaction process as other step
- Any continuous pharma applications
That possibility of sequential processing is also the other attractive perspective for pharmaceutical companies.
The Modulomix is available in Doetinchem for performing test and production runs.
