Hosokawa Micron Corporation was established in 1916 as Hosokawa Iron Works in Osaka, Japan. Today, Hosokawa Micron Group is a world leader in providing process solutions in the fields of powder and particle processing technology, blown film technology, and confectionery technology. Hosokawa Micron Group maintains facilities for research, engineering, manufacturing and service throughout Asia/Oceania, the Americas and Europe. Hosokawa Micron is advancing 100 years of powder and particle technology experience and market leadership in the future with the application, development and commercialization of ultra fine composite particles in the rapidly expanding field of Nano Particle Technology.

Hosokawa Micron Powder Systems continues its long tradition of new product development. One of our most recent innovations is the introduction of the UMP (Universal Mikro-Pulverizer) line in 2008. This new product is the redesign of the traditional Mikro-Pulverizer® line, known throughout the industry for its durability and reliability. The UMP line incorporates a totally new Mikro engineered and fabricated design which vastly extends the market and application range of the machine. Newly designed internal grinding elements make the unit multi-functional and allow users to produce a wide particle size distribution from granular to fine products.
Our Majac® product line introduced the new NGA-12 in 2007. This laboratory classifier recognized as a standard for many years has a sleek new look and demonstrates highly enhanced performance. New features include a high speed bearing housing allowing a 30% increase in wheel speed for finer cuts, new cyclone design for improved product yields and a fines product collector for higher efficiency and longer run time. New PLC logic and touch panel controls provide for improved process control. The addition of a jet mill option makes this the perfect multipurpose laboratory mill and classifier combination.
In 2006, we introduced a new version of the Mikro-ACM® designed specifically to improve the performance of the machine for grit reduction applications. This workhorse of the industry is a customer preferred product line. This widely popular machine is in demand on large scale industrial applications.
In 2003 our Micron Air Jet Sieve® Particle Size Analyzer upgraded to include new PLC controls. The new advanced versions allow customers to incorporate entry data information using the computer keyboard, control the operation via an on screen “Wizard” menu, electronically save, print six different graph formats (in either color or black & white), and transfer the analysis data into “Excel” format. These new features greatly enhance the user capability of the Jet Sieve. The Mikro-LGM® (Long Gap Mill) was introduced in 2001 to the market place. The new design incorporated a patented external coarse product extraction device. The unit has been sold for many fine grinding applications where the requirement is to achieve tight particle top size control. The unit operates at a higher material to air ratio allowing for smaller ancillary components and reduced system component sizes. The unit can handle of variety of size reduction applications including Mineral Fillers, Carbon Black, Pigments, Chemicals, PVC Resin, Amorphous and Fumed Silica, Foodstuffs and Minerals.
